Sedation & Anesthesia
We provide our patients with the highest levels of comfort by offering several different anesthesia and dental sedation options during procedures. Dr. Miller can provide local anesthetic, Nitrous Oxide/laughing gas, oral sedation and IV sedation. We are one of the few general dentists in the area to do so.
IV Sedation
This is the most controlled form of sedation. Patients often have no memory of the dental visit. IV sedation allows us to immediately administer anesthetic for pain and anti-inflammatory medications to aid in comfort and healing. Dr. Miller has extensive experience with IV sedation and many of our patients seek him out for this reason. If you receive IV sedation, it will be necessary for an escort to take you home after your appointment. IV Sedation Instructions
Oral Sedation
This level of sedation provides relaxation and sleepiness. Some patients vaguely remember the details of the procedure. Often times we combine oral sedation with nitrous oxide. This combination allows us to increase the amount of relaxation for the patient. After the appointment it will be necessary for an escort to take you home.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide, commonly called Laughing Gas, helps give a very comfortable, mild to moderate sedation. This can be a good choice when a patient wants to curb a mild amount of anxiety. Patients are aware but relaxed. Nitrous oxide is quickly reversible and patients can drive home after their appointment
